Hi World!
Im Mia. I'm a fun girl :)
I like to travel. I LOVE my savior Jesus, my family and my friends. I usually live in California but right now I am long ways from home travelling Europe with one of my best friends. We have our blog together and then this one my own. I figured its a great way for me to inform everyone of my journeys and remember my personal thoughts!

Hope you enjoy my journeys!!!!

The biggest chicken of them all...

London, United Kingdom

How can I even begin to describe the last 24 hours?
Well lets see... After a tearful goodbye I departed from my family in Mascali to arrive to Palermo. Palermo is also on the oceanside so I was able to watch the most beautiful sunset over the Mediteranean Sea. Sorta trippy since I had been watching the sunrise from over the sea the last 12 days. Afterwards we headed into the airport. Um.. danger. Seriously...EasyJet and I are no longer friends. We stood in line for atleast an hour if not more. Only to arrive at the counter to make fools of ourselves. When we were told to pack lightly...we should have listened. Palermo wasnt kidding about us having to get rid of excess baggage. So there we were...Cassie and I... the only Americans...opening their HUGE suitcases and throwing stuff away. If I could only describe the horror on the travel agents face when she weighed our baggage. You would have thought we would have committed a crime. We finally gave up and decided to pay the extra Euros. Theres only so much we could throw away. To make us even more agitated...EasyJet also had to delay their flight. FOREVER. No really. FOREVER. Finally in the middle of the stinking night...after taking an hour to board..(I dont know why it took that long..) we were on our way to Gatwick. All I wanted to do was sleep. You think I would be able to sleep right...oh no... not on EasyJet. Hardest plane seats ever. I think sitting on a metal trashcan would have been more comfortable. And then.. of course..we take off in the middle of storm approaching Sicilia already having made its way through most of Europe. Turbulence anyone? And not the kinda that I like. No of course not.. its the up and down constant shaking making the pit of your stomach churn because you are bobbing up and down in the air so dang much. Cassie almost died of motion sickness. I think I started taking shots of vodka (just kidding mom I had the chicken soup). Anyhow..after three hours of bobbing up and down in the air FINALLY we begin to approach decent at Gatwick. It was the longest three hours of my life. Nothing could have topped the flight except of the landing. Seriously everyone on board was dead silent hanging on for dear life waiting to crash. The plane was bobbing up and down miserably dropping quickly then suddenly coming back up. Then all of a sudden we start turning sideways. Uh..ok...so we are going to land crooked right? Pretty much. I couldnt even bare to look out the window. Seriously if it wasnt for the Holy Spirit reassuring me and comforting me I would have burst into tears. Cassie is usually the composed one of the two of us and she was about ready to loose it. Obviously we landing and I ran off the plane.

Ok so then we got to Cumberland House the CUTEST bed and breakfast ever in Horley. We were greeted by one of the propietors Clive who is the funniest man ever. Ok well atleast in my top ten. We instantly fell asleep exhausted from our day. And woke up... to homemade english breakfast. Thats right be jealous. Clives wife Carmel cooks herself for all guests. We pretty much were british royalty. I wont lie...it was amazing and if I was you reading this I would want to kick me too. The setting was perfect. We were nestled.. (is that even a word?) in the green countryside in a cozy bed and breakfast in the outskirts of London England listen to the rain fall on the cottage and watching the cars roll by. Could it be anymore movie like? Yes it gets better. After we left Horley we lugged our really heavy (at this point wanting to throw away luggage) into London on the tube. And we arrived at our hostel. In Bayswater. With Hyde park and Buckingham Palace at walking distance. The street the hostel is on looks like 18th century influenced buildings that make me want to melt. Well after we carried our bags up one flight of stairs that nearly made me tumble back down... Cassie and I went into London. This is the crazy part... she dragged me into the London Dungeon. For those who know how scared of horror movies I am will understand that for me, going thru the dungeon was a lifetime achievement..applouse please. It was like walking thru your own horror movie. NO JOKE. I wont spoil the details because this is a story I will tell live.

Then lastly..before coming in for the night we walked thru Tower Bridge in the rain in our umbrellas... took pictures of Westminster Abbey and enjoyed the scenary amongst us.

More amazingly... all day today I felt the cover of Gods amazing grace. Everything we could ever need has been provided for even before I could think of it. Even more so it has been amazing to appriciate the creativity God has of creating such a diverse world for us to enjoy.

Ciao, Ciao for now... until my next adventure ;)

Blogs Away....

Catania, Italy

So far our trip has been amazing. After getting it together from jetlag...Cassie and I have explored so much of the world in Sicilia. Even though I have been here many a time, it has been amazing to view Sicilia from a touristic angle. Today was pretty stinking amazing! My family took us up to the Gole Dell Alcantara. Cassie and I went canyoning thru the Alcantara. The water was freezing cold! You wouldnt believe how numb I went. Thank the good Lord that it was like super hot outside. Most people were canyoning in booties, helmets and wetsuits. Nope not Cassie and I. We braved it barefoot and in only our swimsuits. Talk about us being savages! It was pretty amazing. We climbed the rocks pretty well being careful of our footing and trying not to be taking away with the current.

After spending sometime doing that my family took us to the valley in Alcantara and we drove up into the mountains for some lunch. Italiana style that is! A five course meal that one could only dream of! After stuffing our face to our hearts content...or more we took a nice long hike up thru the town into various cathedrals and lookout points. When we had explored all the nooks and crannies and I had taken enough pictures.. we decided to go up to Mount Etna. Talk about amazing! Mt. Etna is the second largest volcano and we only got up to the first crateor. I would love to hike that beast but let me try to convince Cass of that...hahaha any takers for next year?
