Last day at Jotay
Santa Ana
,
Philippines
Tiger prawns freshly caught and about to be prepared
And then, the prawns cooked... I practically licked the plate clean!
Today is our last day at Jotay as we have decided to move on a little earlier than planned.
Firstly as we think we have both achieved as much as we wanted to whilst we were here.
Secondly, as I have itchy feet having spent a month in the same place.
And thirdly so we have more change to explore...
Did you know there are 7107 islands which consist of The
Philippines
, amazing huh?! So far we have visited only 3; so don't think there will much chance of even visiting the 7 islands!
So we stayed up having a few drinks with Trev to say goodbye to him before packing once again for our next adventure!!!
How exciting!!!

Another day of fishing for Chris
Santa Ana
,
Philippines
Fishing
The further he walks out, the better his chance??
Almost tripping up
Walking in once again having lost his bait
Admiring his rods
About to cast
Chris patiently waiting
Chris still fishing
Although we are working, Chris always manages to find time for some fishing!

Decent Chinese Food...
Santa Ana
,
Philippines
This evening Trev, Jo, Chris and I went out to our friends', Carlo and GeeGee's Chinese restaurant, and to be honest I really enjoyed it; nothing at all like Chinese food you get back in the U.K... Yummy!..
Carlo and GeeGee
Trev and Jo
Yummy food
However, the zoo they kept outside wasn't very nice to look at, I swear the Chinese eat anything!

OJT's last day
Santa Ana
,
Philippines
Today was Mary-Jane and Mayette's last day at Jotay as they are students and they came here to do some On the Job Training (OJT) for a month. So I helped write their references and took photos of them pretending to work as they didn't have a camera so they could show their tutors...
Pretending to work on reception
Pretending to make beds
At the bar
Happy at work!
Predending to clean a mirror
And then cooking
Prentending to look in the fridge
Mayette pretending to wash-up
Mayette pretending to lay up a table
Predending I'm a happy customer
Then Mary-Jane...
After training Mayette how to carry a tray of drinks
Mayette, Anna, Carl, Mary-Jane and Fender

1st proper day on duty
Santa Ana
,
Philippines
Today both myself and Chris got written into the rota, so now we are both working proper shifts for our last 2 weeks at Jotay. Chris is working 8-11 and 1-6 whilst I will be working 2:30-10:30pm.
Having a swim
Locals all swimming in their clothes
Happy little boy
Locals playing in the sea
We had a good day although it wasn't as busy as we expected just doing general tasks.

Jai Alai
Santa Ana
,
Philippines
The court
This evening Trev took us to see a Jai Alai game.
The score board
At the Jai alai
This game is shown all over The
Philippines
on television and online for people to bet on.
Playing jai alai
It was actually quite an interesting game although the commentator obviously didn't agree
The commentator has obviously lost interest!
It doesn't usually have spectors, so we virtually had the place to ourselves!
The only spectators
Very exciting being on T.V to millions of viewers!

Sunday- clothes give away!
Santa Ana
,
Philippines
Following the failure that was last night, we were a little anxious about today hoping that nothing would go wrong as it was horrible weather with really bad rain storms getting everything and everyone soaked!
Cold Max
Puppy-dog eyes
But then again, this was giving away free clothes to the locals and for a good cause.
By 8:15 we were all se up and ready and although the first group wasn't due until 9am and the second until 10am, there was already a massive queue!
Before opening
Queue of people waiting to get in and pick clothes
Out of 380 items of clothing and more donated later by some of the staff, not one piece of clothing even unmatched socks were left by 11am...
A cute boy with a bag almost as big as him stuffed full of clothes!
Clothes day
Clothes day
Busy, busy, BUSY!
Waiting to get in
It was crazily busy, but a great success! It was a just a shame we couldn't have provided to everyone, but at least everyone who had tickets were provided with at least one item of clothing.
