After many years of talking about it, I have finally taken the plunge & decided to travel. After working as a solicitor for over 7 years I think it is time for a break. After working in a school & orphanage in Kenya last year, I realised that there must be more to life than the usual 9 to 5. Fortunately my friend Sarah was equally as bored in her job & had been planning to travel for months & persuaded me that travelling was the perfect solution. Therefore, for at least 3 of the 6 months, I will have someone with me.We leave on 27 October & will be starting in South Africa. I have 3 days in Cape Town with Sarah & then I will be there for a couple more days on my own. I am very excited that I have been invited to Priscilla & Luis' wedding just outside Cape Town while I am there. I am then off for a tour of Namibia, Botswana, Zambia & back to South Africa to Kruger National Park. I will then head to Durban & meet up with Sarah again for a tour down the coast & back to Cape Town. From there I head to Johannesburg & spend 2 weeks working in an orphanage. This seems to be causing everyone the most panic as, depending on which article you believe, Johannesburg is one of the most dangerous cities in the world. I promise to be careful!!!Next is Australia. Sarah & I head to Sydney where we are very fortunate to be able to stay with Penny who moved out there last year. Christmas & New Year in Sydney before heading up the coast & then across to Uluru, down to Melbourne (very excited to have tickets for the Australian Open tennis) before heading back to Sydney for the flight to New Zealand. We then have about 5 weeks to explore New Zealand.Next I am off to Thailand alone (unless my friend Ana is tempted to join me...). I will be travelling through Thailand & down to Malaysia & then meeting Sarah again in Singapore before we head off to Bali & Lombok for a month. Finally, we head to Hong Kong before returning home on 29 April....and back to reality!
