Bad Timing, Dude

Belfast, United Kingdom

I have to be honest, it's been a bit of a rough week here for me. As previously stated, Tomas and I went out a bit too much this past weekend, and so were sleep deprived to start the week. Then, I got sick with a bit of the stomach flu Tuesday night, which naturally was the night before my Final Assesment Day with Deloitte. Joy. I was feeling just awful when I woke up at about 6:45 Wednesday morning, and moaned and groaned for an hour trying to call Deloitte and get in touch with my interviewer and ask if I could reschedule. It was incredibly frustrating. I kept getting re-routed to the London office, who were not very helpful. They connected me to the voicemail of the lady I was meeting, who obviously wasn't there as she was in Belfast for my interview, and she said the number of her mobile so freaking fast on her voicemail I had to reconnect 3 times through cranky London man before I got it. But even after I finally got her, it was bad news. Unfortunately, the thing with Final Assessment is that there's a group activity, so it's not something you can just do another time. Plus, this was the last one they had scheduled and apparently there were only two positions open. So, I dragged my sorry ass out of bed and made my way to the office... 25 minutes late. It was ok, I guess. There was a case study and presentation, a regular interview, a writing exercise, and a group exercise. It lasted from 8-1. It was brutal. I hadn't eaten anything in nearly 24 hours, had barely slept, and was getting stomach cramps practically every hour on the hour. They said they'd let us know within 3 business days, but I'm not holding my breath!

Then, apparently I was supposed to come into work after the interview? I don't know. I got a call from our director around 5pm asking why I didn't show up. I was like, seriously? Seriously? Leave me alone! I'm sick! I'm sleeping! There's hardly anything for me to do until next week anyway! Aaaarrrggghhh.

Anyway, on to brighter things. If anyone noticed that my birthday was coming up in about 2 weeks and was lamenting about things to get me, I have one word: Primark. Primark, Primark, Primark. It's a store here much like H&M, only 3x cheaper. I love it. God, I love it. But I'm rather skint (broke) so I really can't go shopping. So I'm just saying... Primark.

Also, I really enjoy getting emails, even if I don't respond. So if I don't get back to you right away... don't be discouraged. And please, tell other people about the blog. I think I'm doing pretty well with keeping it up, and I think this will somewhat satisfy those who want to know what I'm doing and don't seem to understand that I simply cannot respond to every single email I get...!

Love!

Send a Compliment

I'm creeping on your blog because I saw that you're in Belfast and I couldn't be more jealous. I just wanted to say hi, because I'm going to be living vicariously through you and this blog. :)

I love reading about your shenanigans and can't wait to come visit!

P.S. I think you need a new blog picture. Right now it's some dude with a backpack who is standing next to what appears to be an Arabic stop sign. It's weirding me out.
