Planning Stages

Stevensville, United States

Here we are still, at home in Montana. I wish the sky outside looked like the one in this photo, but alas, the skies of western Montana in August are typically grey-brown with smoke from wildfires in the mountains. This year is no different. I post the picture to remind myself that it really is pretty here.

In a little over two months, we will be hitting the road with The Woodworking Shows. The first show is in Dallas, so there will be plenty of open road before us on the first leg.

I'm planning out our school year now, hoping to start things up in another couple of weeks, to get prepared for our journey. Things will look a little different for school this year, as they should with an adventure of this magnitude before us. Have no fear, the kids will be learning plenty--probably more than they can even handle.

We're so excited, we can hardly sit still, but sit we must...for two more months. I'll record as much of the preparation process as I can. Read along as you wish, but the real action starts up in October.

I have been away for a year......

Luxor, Egypt

Well, it was my one year anniversary since i left australia last week. I didnt celebrate, Perhaps i should of. Sometimes i feel there is alot to celebrate by being out of my birth country. Other times i miss it so much that i feel like running back as soon as possiable.
I have seen and done many things in this past year. I have lived and worked in Egypt, I have travelled Europe. Italy were i saw the best artworks in the world. France were I saw the best shows. London were i had the best time with old friends, and listened to the greatest live bands in the lousiest pubs in the lowest suburbs.
I have seen so many different cultures and customs, listened to the langauges of the world and walked all the back streets i could. Tryed not to miss a thing. Although i miss home.

Back at work now, and that brings its own problems. New paint on the walls, a new season of problems and excitment with sadness to follow.

turkey day.

Thanksgiving weekend was fun. spent the day with Jimmy and Kim, well with Luis' family. He hasn't spent a holiday with them in 20 yrs he said. It was fun and quite an interesting day. Friday we drove down the beach, spent a few hours here and there with family. we went to the Armadillo Friday night. OMG. it does not compare to the clubs here AT ALL.. like for real.. GAY..LAME.. and its 16 and up.. who the hell does that?? blah.. i mean it was cool that you could smoke inside.. but still.. I did get asked to dance by several guys.. was quite awesome.. but Luis dance with me quite a few songs.. and he NEVER does that.. so. its was AWESOMEST!. I wasn't about to let him off that dance floor once I got him up there.

.Saturday we went to a bday party and hung out with friends. it was nice seeing old friends that I hadn't seen in a long time.. I miss Brazoria count. BUT.I was more then ready to go home..for reals..(ask for details)...lol.

End of Summer

Vicenza, Italy

Hi, this is my first post. I really don't know why I decided to open this blog about travel..unfortunately I can't travel a lot. Perhaps it's just a way to travel with my mind, through your journey, your adventures and your words..and think about all the time I wasted during my studying years at university! I could have travel a lot in that time...no thoughts, no responsabilities, but well...no money! :D
Now I'm here, at home, it's Friday at last and working week is over! I've spent the hole day thinking about my next vacation. I hope I can take some days off in October and I would like to take a weekend-trip somewhere, maybe I can go back to Berlin.
This summer I had a wonderful trip: I went to Amsterdam a couple of days just for visit the city, then I sailed from there and with a boat and a bike I run through the Netherland country until the north of Belgium..Antwerp, Ghent and Bruges. I had a wonderful time and I met a lot of nice people, I can strongly advise anyone to take a trip like this. Bike tours in Netherlands aren't so hard, fortunately the land is almost flat! :P I will upload some pictures of the vacation, maybe (if I can understand how this blog works...) (sorry for this nonsense!)
