how to add HTML?

The short answer is you can't.

We intentionally lean towards giving a consistent look to all our blogs, so we don't allow HTML or embed code.

If having a custom look for your blog is important, you might need to look elsewhere for hosting. It's worth noting that we offer Blogger and Wordpress templates that give you a map up top while giving you the freedom to do whatever you like with your blog.
