Into the city we go! Traffic jam On the way into the city. Our riverboat. The Pearl Tower. Again, very hard to photograph on that night. It was really humid, so a lot of the pictures had blotchy circles on them and it was really cloudy/smoggy. It started to sprinkle a bit while we were on the boat, but it was still really ne This globe is right next to the hotel that we ate dinner at. One of the river boats on the river with us. More buildings. The Pearl Tower. It is really neat looking. The Pearl Tower. This is one of the most famous buildings on the Shanghai Skyline. Shanghai! The buildings with the blue lines sometimes change and have red lines. The river boats have bright lights on them too. The second tallest building in the world is the second building from the right. It was really hard to capture in a picture because the weather was pretty yucky. See the fish on the side of the building? These bright LCD displays change colors and have a lot of different pictures on them. Shanghai Skyline The Stadium that bungee jumping used to be offered at. It is an Olympic training stadium. Papa John's delivers! By bicycle! See he Pagoda on the top of the middle building? I think it is a really fancy restaurant. Just some neat buildings. Bikes are lined up like this all over the place. It can sometimes be very crowded parking you bike. I always have to search to find mine too. St. Ignostic Cathedral Check out all of the flavors DQ Blizzards in China! After I took this, the lady at the counter got mad that I was taking pictures of the DQ signs, so I had to stop. I'm not sure where, but somewhere between the Arctic Circle and Toronto. Mountains and snow. Another picture of the snack. The North Pole! (approximately) Mmmm...the snack on the plane. They fed us well on the plane! First we got a snack, equivalent to pretzels/peanuts and a drink. Next, we had a hot lunch (chopsticks and forks provided), then halfway through the trip we had a snack (pictured) which incl We piled all of the bags (6 people's, so about 18 bags) onto one side of our bus. I thought it would tip over! When we walked out of the international arrivals/customs area there was a tunnel of people holding signs to pick people up. This picture shows the outside of the tunnel (it is to the left, but you can't really tell). Our first look at China! Our drive back from the airport again. It was about a 50 minute drive. I only thought that we were going to crash about 3 times. On the drive from the airport. It is raining and foggy out (or just raining and polluted). Our bathroom, complete with a western toilet, shower, and sink. Our bedroom, we have two of those large wardrobes. In this picture is my bed. We still have to decorate the walls a bit :-) Our kitchen while standing in the living room (TV and chairs are the living room part). The view from our bedroom again, only looking to the right. Again, the humidity spots. The view from our bedroom window. It is only 6:30 PM and it is dark. It is not raining, but it looks like it might be in this photo. I think that the reason is because it is VERY humid! I'll try to take a picture when it is light out and see if that h The view from our bedroom during the day. The brand on our air conditioner. Haier is a very popular brand here for air conditioning. Their logo is two small children in their underwear and one is eating an icecream cone. Our washing machine! We are still so pleased with our pillow case curtains :-) Our study. (We left the desks in our spare apartment A few of the drill sergeants.
