Day 4 (Continued)

After lunch we drove through Parachilna Gorge where the road was criss-crossed by a creek. We saw a wallaby and passed through Angorichina to Parachilna. From there it was north to Leigh Creek and Lyndhurst, where the paved road ends and the Strzelecki Track begins. It is also were "talc...

Day 4 (Continued)

From Lyndhurst it was about 80 km to Marree, which consists of an old Victorian hotel right out of a John Wayne western, which is where we stayed for the night, and a "petrol" station. Tomorrow we start the Oodnadatta Track to Ayers Rock and Alice Springs, and just learned that Lake Eyre...

Day 3

We left Adeleide around 9:30 or 10:00, with our first destination being Gawler on the lower Barossa Valley, a wine growing region. Instead of going directly into the Barossa Valley, we headed up highway 32 towards Tarlee.

Day 3 (Continued)

Day 3 (Continued)

Quorn through to Hawker was nice, with many old ruins of towns which literally died in the 1870's. After Hawker we saw our first kangaroos, the first one was just sitting by the road and initially we thought he was hurt (so I didn't take his picture), until he hopped away. We also saw emus...
