Getting Started

Talked to Anne and Stephen and both will be home the week of May 16. Then talked to Mum who is agreeable to going west again this year. Glenna is in NZ so Mum thought she'd come to TO by train - I went to book it and that's a no go - it's an 18 hour trip for twice what the plane costs and that doesn't count food during those 18 hours.
Needless to say we're flying Westjet now that they finally have a runway in Kamloops big enough to take the 737s Westjet flies.
Because of all the changes for flights, I thought it was better to book it through a travel agent so phoned the Bank's agent tied to the Visa card - yup, it was complicated. Get Mum to Toronto. Get both of us to Kamloops via Calgary. Get both of us from Kamloops to Edmonton - last time we drove but this time thought we'd fly. We're flying - leaving Kamloops at 1:30 and getting into Edmonton at 5:15 or something like that. We have to layover in Calgary for an hour. Then rent a car at the Edmonton airport, stay with Stephen for a couple of nights and then drive to Red Deer. See Pearl and whoever she rounds up and stay for the night. Then off to Calgary. Stay with Bob and finally fly back to TO. It took an hour and a half with the trave agent to get everything booked. Nice thing - everything is now paid for including the car. Really glad I didn't try and work it all out on the web.....I'd still be there!
