Eastern Europeans, when they were deciding what hospitality would be like, must have taken their cue from the people of Satu Mare. Amazingly social and willing to strike up a conversation anywhere about anything.

After our business appointment at Dräxlmaier this morning we had lunch at the Hotel Astoria where we enjoyed a breaded pork tenderloin. It was stuffed with cheese and ham and called a cordon bleu snitel, if I recall correctly. Rather slow service but worth the wait.

We are not more than a few kilometers from the Hungarian border. This lovely place is about 100,000 people and booming. The name Satu Mare translates to "Big Village" - but it is has become much more than that. I am hoping our business arrangements work well here so I can return.
