Itnerary

Tuesday, 09/14/10: Leave JFK 4:35 PM. Fly, read, eat, sleep.

Wednesday, 09/15/10: Arrive Shanghai 7:30 PM, go through customs. Leave Shanghai 9:55 PM on transit flight to Beijing. See map below.

Thursday, 09/16/10: Arrive Beijing 12:20 AM, eat, check into hotel, sleep. Wake up, tour Beijing and surrounding area, including Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, 2008 Olympic venues, jade factory, Ming Tombs.

Friday, 09/17/10: Beijing: Tian An Men Square, forbidden City, Pearl Market, Summer Palace, other assorted sites. Heather and I plan to take an optional Hulong tour to meet with a family and help prepare and eat a meal with them.

Saturday, 09/18/10: Flight from Beijing (8:00 AM) to Shanghai (9:55 AM). Bus tour to Shanghai World Expo, then to Suzhou, a town west of Shanghai (see map below).

Sunday, 09/19/10: Suzhou: Tour of silk factory, Lingering Garden, other assorted sites. Bus journey to Hangzhou, a town southwest of Shanghai, after dinner (see map below).

Monday, 09/20/10: Hangzhou: boat cruise, pagodas, temples, tea Plantation, etc. Bus back to Shanghai.

Tuesday, 09/21/10: Shanghai: silk rug factory, gardens, old town bazaar

Wednesday, 09/22/10: Leave Shanghai 12:00 PM (noon) and arrive JFK 2:15 PM (we cross the International Date Line so we arrive in NYC the same day we left Shanghai). Board bus for Williamsburg 3:30 PM.

Thursday, 09/23/10: Arrive Williamsburg 12:30 AM. For Randy, get up and go to work by 8:45 AM Surprised
