We All Live On A Yellow Truck …

Arusha, Tanzania

First long drive day of many. We all boarded the truck at about 8.30am and apart from toilet and lunch stops we didn’t stop until we reached Tanzania that night. First camp – Snake Park, Arusha.

My home for the next 2 months is a 24 seater yellow truck called bulldog. There are 19 of us at the moment; most people are in their 20, taking a break form work to travel for a while.

The road to the boarder crossing and then on to Arusha was pretty bumpy and full of diversions that apparently have been going on for years as they try to improve the roads. I spent it mainly watching the views of Kenya turn into the tribal villages and flat plains of Tanzania from the huge open sides of the truck. And trying to learn people’s names…

After our first toilet stop in Tanzania and the first ‘bush pee’ for me and the newbies we celebrated with some failed jumping photos.

And then started on the beers.
