You're right. It would be cool to have a way to hook links up to places in a more formal way. (Right now, you can simply drop a URL into a post and it will link up). I'm hesitant though because of the potential spam implications.

Blog and Comment spam are a big concern for sites like ours these days. Here at Blogabond, our spamfilters swat down up to 10,000 automated spam posts every day, as well as dozens of hand-written spammy blog posts. So you can see that I'll want to make sure that any new way to add links to the site doesn't open a hole that the SpamBots can exploit!
