Strange. There's no limit on how many photos you can upload. The only restriction is that each one has to be less then 10mb, but unless you have a $4000 camera that wont be an issue!

One possibility is that the new photos you're trying to upload have the same name as ones that are already have up there. If so, the new photos might actually be overwriting the older ones with the same names.

I'd write it off to cosmic rays and give it another shot!
