Fire drill at Jotay-gorgeous beach in Pagudpud!

Pagudpud, Philippines

As mentioned yesterday, today is our last day at Jotay and Trev arranged for us to get picked up at 10:30am after a fire drill took place at the resort.

The drill itself was in fact very entertaining!

We made a pretend fire just outside the main entrance and then called 3 different fire departments to check their response time.

They were remarkably very quick as well as efficient we were all very impressed, but felt a little guity though when they all rushed in as they themseves were unaware they were being tested.

Also, if all 3 fire departments were on call, then we dread to think what would happen if there were a real fire!

After the drill everyone was given loads of free food and we said goodbye to Trev and made our way to Pagudpud in a local's van which was so basic and run down we were amazed it could even drive!

Once in Pagudpud, we had to remember that we are now once again backpackers so had to walk from one resort to the next to haggle down the Price and considering it is a major tourist destination the place is seriously a ghost town which left plenty of room for negotiation.

Once we settled in we took a walk down to beach to grab something to eat and the beach we had to ourselves as well which suited us just fine!
