Lunch is an important meal and usually consists of a fresh salad or soup followed by a meal like schnitzel ( meat pounded flat and breaded and fried or spaetzel (macaroni and cheese warmed up with a frying pan and drizzled with the pumpkin oil.

Dinner is much like lunch, although most Austrians will eat very lightly at dinner time.
