My Stuff
From Backpackers-Flashpackers
Taiping
,
Malaysia
Ever since we have met up with Haze, Neil and Reggie it is as if we have been morphed it Flashpackers aka, no longer on a strict, tight budget. You would be amazed at just how much money we have spent being with them! Soon, we will forget our backpacking routes and want to live they high life again as we are getting far too comfortable and used to it! Today Chris and Neil woke up bright and early to pick up a lush 7-seater hire car to drive to take a slow drive to
Taiping
in preparation to go to the night zoo in the evening.
Taiping
really isn't geared up for tourists and we were throughout our stay there the only Westerners we saw.
We did manage to find a hotel eventually after looking at some seriously run-down places and managed to get one with quite a nice view of the city. We then went out for something to eat and ate amongst the locals at a very rustic restaurant. At 8pm we left and made our way to the night zoo and the lady behind the counter was so happy to see us there that she literally screamed in excitement, 'Where you from?!' The zoo was really cheap and included within the price was a train ride around the whole park, which as great as it was huge, although the commentry wasn't in
English
so we had to work out ourselves in the darkness what was there.
They had so many different types of animals there including tigers, lion, elephants, rhinos, kangaroos, orangutans, zebra, crocodiles and so much more it was a great evening. After the train ride we then walked around some of the park so we could take a few photos, although it was dark and without a flash proved quite difficult!
We left at midnight when the park was closing listening to the orangutans banging and screaming refusing to go inside which was quite scary!
