No, you can't change that yourself. But you should be able to, eh? I'll look into finding a way for you to change that top banner photo for your stuff.
Right now, when people look at your blog page or your profile, they'll see a map of where you've been at the top. But you're right, if they want to check out your photos or drill down into an individual blog post, the stock pictures come back. It would be cool if you could stick one of your own up there.
I guess I never put this feature in because I figured nobody would have access to a photo editor in some remote corner
Uganda
from which to slice a photo down to 1000x200 pixels and upload it. But now it seems that most folks (yourself included) are doing a bit of preparation to their blog before leaving home.
Anyway, I'll look into it. Have a great time in Africa. Whereabouts are you headed?

Thx for looking into this Jason . it would be nice if when my friends open my blog they see a pic of me or where I am. I am off to
Zambia
for a months volunteer work in an orphanage just outside
Ndola
called Eagels Wings. There are 24 of us going from the Baptist Church (
Brisbane
) to help finish building the orphanage, work in the school or hospital there and just get to know the locals and play like demons lol. I have no idea what exactly I will be doing - I may find myself on the roof hammering roof trusses or in the hospital caring for the sick. Thats the great thing about going - no idea what to expect and therefore having no expectations to meet. After my month there I am off to
Dubai
and
Egypt
for my well earned rest.
Where r u at the moment and what r ur travel plans ??

Sounds like a great trip. I swung through
Zambia
a few years back and absolutely loved it. I was only in the country a few days, but it was pretty much the most "Africa" place I saw on the trip.
I Took a 14 hour bus ride from
Lusaka
to the
Malawi
border and didn't pass a single big town the whole way. Just jungle, grass, and the occasional little clump of huts in the forest. We stopped once along the way, just by the side of the road since there weren't any towns, for the standard halfway rest break. After a few minutes, the locals started materializing out of the forest with stacks of bananas on their heads, looking to make a few kwatcha.
Like I said, it's the real Africa. Hope you have a great time!
