Sally: I am loving reading your blog entries. Ironically, we didn't get to meet in IL but I grew up just 15 miles from Dubuque, IA where this picture was taken and my brother, sister-in-law and newphews live there. I have crossed that bridge many, many times!! My parents live in Galena, IL, just beyond East Dubuque on the IL side of the river. If I would've known your trip was going to take you through there I would've recommended a detour to Galena for it's lovely shopping and fine dining. It's a well-known tourist destination in the Midwest, complete with professional golf courses and a downhill ski resort (where my dad works). It's much unlike the corn fields of the rest of IL and IA.
