Washington DC

Washington, United States

Today we arrived in beautiful Washington DC for a quick look around before we head up to New York City.

We have said goodbye to our 'home on wheels' for the last 2 weeks - our rental car. Driving into Washington was not the drama we might have imagined.

A special thank you here to my support team on this journey: one courageous and expert driver; and one capable and confident navigator. There was barely one wrong turn for 1660 miles (2660 kms). My husband and son have spent many collective hours charting the journey - very reassuring for me!

And you'll never guess who I ran into ...

Hi Sal. See you had an all around trip of interests.
The experiences of travel, places and new people is always a treat. Best when it is funded by others.(i won a trip to LA, Vagas and Hawii in 94). Can see how different it is from the west coast, which is desert and desolate. Doesn't a couple of weeks fly!!!

Sally,

I logged in today to see where your travels have taken you since you left United States. You have definitely been to some great American universities and met with some knowledgeable distance education leaders. Looks like you even met the president ;-)

Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Hi Sally

I'm absolutely in awe at what you have achieved whilst over In the USA - the people you have networked with, the information shared, the ideas gleaned!! It must be immensely overpowering and gratifying at the same time. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the photograph of you and George W. Bush. I had to look twice. Did you have a conversation with him? We missed you at the Faculty Forum which was a great opportunity to catch up with everyone.
Looking forward to seeing you when you return.

Sue
