My Stuff
All set to go!

Packing, packing, packing and some more packing! A recent study by me has revealed that during the last 4 years I have not lived at any given address more than 5 consecutive months. That means I am pretty much used to packing my stuff, getting to know new places, people and environments, whether it's a flat in a small city in
Denmark
, an appartment in Amsterdam, a student dormitory, a countryside hotel or my parents' place.
But this time it's different. The distance, duration, amount of preparations and the very location make the trip very exciting. Over the past few days, whatever media I was exposed to, in whichever context, I had the impression that [[New York]], the Big Apple, the capital of the world was being mentioned all the time! Sounds like a lot is happening there and I sure am going to use my time well in order to experience as much as possible.
Going there was not easy to set up, especially for a relatively inexperienced traveler who has been to many places in Europe, but not much outside. Leaving the Schengen zone makes some things more complicated, and going to the US for 6 months was quite an organizational challenge. Tons of forms to fill, photos to take, insurances to buy, flights and busses to figure out and book, payment cards to get, documents to have, accommodation issues to resolve and taxes to align and here I am - all set to go, flying tomorrow from [[
Warsaw
]] to
Newark
!
Song for today? Of course: New York, New York by Frank Sinatra!
PS At this point I should mention the valuable help I've received from people from NY that I know or got to know - a few emails made lots of things much easier, especially preventing me from being homeless after arrival and roaming from hostel to hostel in search of something more permanent. If you ever read it - many thanks!

Hej Artur
Her er en
Lille
