Tanjung, Indonesia

I have set out from home and have taken the SMRT from Ang Mo Kio to Bedok (transiting through the circle line in between) and took bus number 35 to the Tanang Merah Ferry Terminal.
Approach the penguin counter to claim my ticket and idling around before boarding the ferry.

Upon reaching the ferry terminal in Tanjung Pinang, I was picked up by Beach Boy in his scooter. The ride took about an hour before reaching the beach resort, Pondok Wisata Susy & Activity.

During the ride, I sees that the whole of Tanjung Pinang is more of a "developed village". It is an idea place for people who wanna get away from the crowded urban city and feel how it is like to live simple.

Pondok Wisata Susy & Activity is owned by Mr Sularto and Beach Boy is his partner in the accommodation services. I have know the place from the website (www.bintanbudgetresort.com) while searching for "Bintan budget resorts" in Google. Mr Sularto and Beach Boy are both friendly and warm.

As Mr Sularto speaks mostly Indonesian language, it is Beach Boy who showed me around the place. There are several types of accommodation available, the Longhouse, Beach House and Bungalows.

He has told me that there are several activities available including cycling, snorkeling, beach volleyball and trip to an island where the turtles can be seen laying eggs at night.

I took a stroll along the beach to see how it looks in real as compared to the pics in the website I found. Wow! Am really impressed by the white sand and clear sea water!

Fishes can even be seen too.... the ikan bilis, "sergeant" and "rising sun".

I have rented a bicycle to cycle around the area for a while. There are beautiful places around... all naturally formed by the ages of the tides. It's a pity that I am a non-swimmer, if not I do love to take a chance to go out to the Beralas Pasir Island for a snorkeling trip to see the beautiful underwater corals and fishes!

After coming back from my cycling, I get myself ready for dinner. Even though it is a simple Indonesian family meal. I can feel the sincerity that is provided by the host.

The night is a scene to see with all the lights from the kelongs. They looks like the stars in the night. After some chit chatting with beach boy and Mr Sularto, it is time to retire for the night.

The next day, I strolled down the beach again looking for new life and nice seashells to pick. Wonder how the owner get sure an interesting seashell?

Not long it is time that I get packed up and ready to leave.... I have regretted not to get a 3D2N package so that I can stay longer. :(
There are some things I do strongly recommend that you bring. They are:
1) sandals
2) flashlight
3) Insect repellent.

Do come and take a look for yourself!!!
