Please keep the red tracking map line complete for the entire trip, it seems to be deleting it self from the back, only keeping the last 15 or so entries !!

would be good to have the full red highlighted trip for my entire year away rather than just the last few weeks....

Yeah, this has bugged me for a while. Right now, on your profile page, it will only draw a line for your last 15 entries. Just like you describe.

At one point, I had it drawing your entire history on that map, but now we have users with 10 trips and 200 entries. It just ended up as a big red scribble, and it took forever for the mapping engine to draw it all.

It's tough to get a good balance here. I agree that 15 points is probably not enough. I'll play around with it a bit.

Oh, it's worth noting that you can see your whole trip on one map if you go to your trip page instead of your profile. That's the sort of "Mom" view, where people can read all the entries for your whole trip on one page, and see the complete map. As you'll notice, it takes upward of a week to load over a slow connection!
