I really like the Blogabong layout (Nice work, Jason), but I've noticed that a trip map of someone else's route through
Benin
shows up when I open up my profile: this is very confusing, since I am also travelling to
Benin
, but not along the indicated route.
It would be great if my own trip map showed, or if the banner stayed as simply photographs...but showing something as specific as a trip map on the profile page is, I would suggest, problematic.

Hey, you're right! Sort of. The map on the profile page is supposed to be showing the last ten places you've been. For most profiles, that will make up a pretty good summary of your recent travels without overloading the map display.
But yours is off in two different respects. First, it's showing your planned itinerary instead of your actual posts. Second, it's showing that itinerary in the wrong order, hence the strange route zigzagging all across
Benin
.
I like the way you have been using the site, planning your trip in advance and then following along at a later date. That's actually how I had intended that people would use it, but thus far only a few others have. It looks like I've skewed a few features (like the profile view) to cater to the "typical" user, but I'd rather have everything work well for everyone. I'll see what I can do.
Thanks for the heads up. I've been meaning to do a trip across West Africa before too long, so I look forward to following your trip.

All right, I've found and fixed the bug that was drawing your itinerary in the wrong order. Hopefully your profile map will look a little more recognizable.
I'll still want to put a little more thought into how to show itineraries such as yours. It should really be zooming in on your latest actual comment rather than the waypoint with the date furthest in the future. I'll keep you posted if and when I make any more tweaks to the display.
