My Stuff
suggestions
Hiya,
I was just trying out your site along with other similar ones: yours is the best so far! 2 things so far have been frustrating though.
1) It would be good if there was a prompt to save when adding places to my trip. I clicked somewhere else and lost them all, which is a bit harsh! surely it could ask "do you want to save changes?"
2) I visited a lot of small places that aren't on your map at all: it would be good to have a mechanism to add these. When actually walking rather than lounging about in cities, this would be really helpful. On the
Isle of Man
, for example, I'd really like to be able to add The Sound, which is both a stunning place and would make my circular trip actually look like it did go all the way round!
cheers!

First, welcome aboard and thanks for the good feedback!
We actually had an "Add stuff to the Map" link for a while, but I pulled it out for reasons unknown. I think I had bigger plans for it that I never finished implementing. I'll have to put that back in. It was pretty useful!
One thing of note is that it's really not that disastrous to have users adding stuff to the map at random. Sure, there's a bit of "test test" stuff that needs cleaning out, but mostly people just use the feature for it's intended purpose. It's just not all that useful for spamming purposes, and nobody else has figured out a good malicious use. (I expected to see people drawing magnetic poetry in the middle of the ocean!)
Another good side effect of that is that a "Move this town back to shore!" button would probably be used be well meaning folk, and I wouldn't have to go relocating London back to where it belongs every day. I've been meaning to add that ability for a while now (our
Australia
data is all over the map, literally!)
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions!

Ok, the "Add Stuff" button is back in action. Look for it on the Maps tab, sitting at the base of the map.
Sorry it took so long to get it back up and running!
