Day 1 - And so it begins

Fort Collins, United States

Day 1 Edit - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFbFYjBVHeM

After enjoying a delicious dinner at Jim's Chicken wings in [[United-States/Fort-Collins]] Co, we decided to begin our road trip. At 10pm we left [[United-States/Fort-Collins]], arriving in Boulder shortly after to swap cars. After unloading our gear from the Xterra and packing Ben's beastly 4Runner, we left boulder at midnight to arrive at my good buddies place in Breckenridge Co, at 2:30am. Just a standard day in our lives and a great way to start the trip.

we stayed at a friends place who goes by the name of Tom or (Taam Taam). Taam is always an extremely hospitable host and has posted me up on his various pads in Breckenridge for years. Taam is not only a great guy but actually one of the most talented riders I've ever seen on a snowboard. It is only through the help of good friends like this that keep a shelter over our head during this road trip.

All throughout Toms place was some amazing artwork done by a friend who lives in Breckenridge. The majority of his work was some very intricate stencil taggings done with spray paint.

Tomorrow we will be snowboarding up at the fridge and heading to Vail after that. I haven't ridden a snowboard yet this season and it has been over two years for Benjamin Howard.

This is my first blogging attempt I've done on my own and outside of school. Kinda weird and awkward but it'll get better. ten four, over and out

Day 2 - Scholastic Understanding and Chivalry

Breckenridge, United States

Day 2 Edit- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paZZ6CnqZh4

Road Trip 2K11

Scholastic Understanding and Chivalry

Howdy folks, CraaLogg, Log, or Logan here with the words of Day 2, the day we will refer to as "Scholastic Understanding and Chivalry."

Now, I'll tell ya whaaaattt...

After a days work prepping, and a late nights drive, there we were in Breckenridge, Colorado, around 4am at our buddy Taam Taam's. The road trip has officially begun. We said our hellos, and were off to bed, the three of us dudes and Taam's 2 pony-sized dogs, in about 9 feet of couch space.

I woke myself up at some point during the night after stretching my legs and jabbing my feet into Nate's chest/neck/mouth area, which surprisingly jostled me far more than it did him.

The next morning we awoke with abnormally swollen-red eyes, and our joints and muscles felt like they had rusted over during the short nights rest. Ah, its mornings like these when you wish a lil WD-40 would do the trick...

Pat, Taam's roommate, was up before us, got us all good and medicated, and we each popped 3 advil...

Wonder what we'll feel like after a day of riding...

We got to the mountain, I had to reprint my pass cuz I forgot it in my car back in Boulder, Nate had to print his pass cuz it was his first day, and Ben spent $80 on a ticket.

It was time, the heard of turtles was finally snowboarding.

Pat, Taam's roommate, stashed a few PBRs in the trees up by this log-jib line on peak 9.

We rode laps through the log-jibb line on Peak 9 all day. It could not have been a more fun way for all of us to reunite back on the mountain after nearly two years of not riding together once.

I landed a switch front 2-7 to back switch-up to front 4 out on the down-flat-down, and went down 3 black diamonds. It was tyte.

It's funny to see what a difference a year can make...

We got to catch a run with my brother and his click o' goons, then ate tacos and wings with all them at Mi Casa. They had real nice spicy bloodys there too.

From there we were off to the liquor store to stock up for a night session at Keystone..Ben missed the turn onto the highway to keystone, and while turning around, whipped 'er right on into the snow-packed ditch...Lucky for him, every person who drove by stopped and brought their brother and 3 cousins to help. The majority of the people who stopped wanted to push the high-centered 4Runner 4 feet straight up, 10 feet across the ditch and through 3 feet of snow back up onto the road. But then the first vehicle with Colorado plates showed up. The Coloradoan stopped, backed up, hitched up his pickup to us with a tow-strap, got the hopeless pushers cleared away and convinced that pulling with a truck was indeed more efficient than pushing by hand uphill through snow (which was the longest process of the whole ordeal), and we were back on the road.

It wasn't until we got into the closest parking lot at Keystone 'till Nate noticed the lights up on the mountain were shut off and there was no way the mountain was open for night riding...

At this point we hadn't established where we were staying for the night so we made a few calls, and were left somewhat stranded for the time being...so we looked for ways to amuse ourselves in the car sitting in the parking lot of the abandoned mountain.

No sooner did we finish that and we got the call we'd been waiting for...
We were off to stay at Courtney's spot in the low-income housing development of middle Vail.

Knights and Scholars, here we shall rest our tired bones in preparation for the morn's battle at Vail Mountain.

Day 3 - Dragon Slaying Egg Laying

Vail, United States

Day 3 Edit - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLUfombUxLA

Dragon Slaying Egg Laying

Waking up in Vail is a wonderful thing.

It's a bit out of the way from everything but its definitely worth the drive. We got to wake up next to the ever so beautiful, Courtney Beoakschdlgle.

We made some muffins and then tasted wonderful

After a nice long day of riding we decided to call it quits. We ate at La Cantina, a delicious mexican restaraunt inside the Vail Parking garage in the main village. We quickly drink two pitcher there and numerous beers back a Courtney's in preparation for the next days adventure. If we wanted to be on our game in Vegas the very next day, practice was pertinent.

Vail to Vegas

Las Vegas, United States

Weeeeellll kitty kats... BHOW here to tell you a little story of our excursion to Las Vegas.

So... We are started in Vail, CO. This being our stomping grounds, our place of origin... Colorado.

From this beautiful state we started our long trek to Las Vegas, Nevada. Nathan, Logan and myself had finished an amazing day at Vail mountain and were stoked to get to Vegas to party and be apart of activities that only Vegas can deliver.

After many many miles and hours of driving we finally had a glimpse of the lights of Vegas on the horizon. Only good times and better times were racing through our brains. No more driving. Only the bright lights of the town and adventures in the future were in store.

No reservation? No problem! Well thats what we thought at least...

Good things our legs were working because we spent a solid amount of time walking from hotel to hotel only to find out that our dreams of Vegas living were far fetched.

Every single hotel in Vegas was booked. Even the cheap broke down hotels off the strip were sold out. This, obviously was a down point in our road trip of awesomeness.

With no sleeping options in Vegas we had to get back into driving mode. After 13 hours of driving the last thing we wanted to do was get back in the 4Runner and keep moving. But we had to, and we did. Next stop Barstow.

Delirious driving ensued but we arrived in Barstow only to miss our exit. Being in the state we were currently in, we decided to keep moving to Victorville, CA. This being a town where we knew of a hotel that was cheap and would accommodate us at four in the A.M.

Of course we missed the exit and spent a good while searching for new places to rest our heads. In the end, we all decided to cowboy up and find this mystery hotel. After a little Iphone action we managed to find the place and ended the night with some good ol Bud Light and well earned sleep.

Rest is a beautiful thing. We slept. We traveled on... To San Diego!
