The island is beautiful, about 40 Miles from LA. It's a total departure from the mainland, the only town on the island is really small just a few square blocks and a few houses scattered along the hill side. The rest of the island is only accessible by one road frequented almost exclusively by golf carts.

Best Story from the weekend:
I met some people at a bar doing shots and ending up at a campsite house in the "Canyon" (or as I would call it, the top of a mountain). Around 4 am I decided it was time to leave but everyone was too plastered to drive their golf carts. Thankfully the iphone came through with bad news (see picture) before it bit it for the evening. The walk home was nothing but eeriness. Living in LA now makes it impossible to find silence, so to be walking down a road an hour before dawn between long periods of darkness and small pools of light from street lights was.. creepy. I could pretend I did soul searching and self reflection in this silence, but that wouldn't be true. Instead I woke up a friend on the mainland who assured me there were "no dangerous large animals on the island".
The next day I asked her why she kept telling me that, and she replied "oh because there are totally wild boars out there, but I didn't think you wanted to know that."

The hotel had a Chihuahua employee. I've never seen a dog that cold all the time
