Taco Bell

a travel blog by Buckster

I'm sitting at home, wondering where my next adventure will take me, when BAM! my stomach alerts me to it's dire shortage of burritos. There was only one thing to be done.

On the road

Mission Viejo, United States

So I hop into the Passat, throw on some Darkness, and pull out of the driveway. I got "Get your hands off of my woman..." blaring as I round the bend onto Sienna. In the distance I see some rainclouds, but I'm not worried. Not with what I have ahead of me.

Close call

Mission Viejo, United States

Ok, I'm driving down the road when out of nowhere this chick in a Hummer appears ahead of me in the fast land. She's talking on her cell phone, which is annoying enough, but the really irritating thing is that she's only doing 45 in a 50 zone! Damn it, woman, pedal on the right! I'm so ticked off I almost flash my headlights at her. Almost. But the though of delicious Taco Bell food brings me back into a state of peace and I decide instead to pass her on the right, making sure I cut her off moving back into the fast land.

Oh yeah, now we're cookin'.

Promised land... or is it?

Mission Viejo, United States

Pulling into the Taco Bell parking lot I suddenly get butterflies in my stomach. I can't believe that after all those minutes on the road I'm finally here. i step out of the car and into the cool 85 degree United States air, but the goosebumps on my arms are more from excitement than the chill in the air.

I walk in and place my order. Two double-decker tacos and that strange hexagonal thing that they have. And a large, frosty soda. Man, this is the life. But when I reach the soda machine I realize one of the sad limitations of our technologically driven world. They're out of ice. OUT OF ICE?!? How can this be? This was supposed to be my day!

In a fit of rage I storm back to the front counter, demanding what is rightfully mine: "Hi, do you guys have any more ice?" The woman behind the counter understands the seriousness of the situation, and without hesitation replies that a guy is bringing some out. In fact, he's right behind me about to pour it into the machine. I get my ice, my diet pepsi, and all is right with the world again.

Home sweet home

Mission Viejo, United States

The trip back home was uneventful. I had my recently refilled diet pepsi at my side and a full stomach. Man, if only other people could live like this. The world would be a better place.
