Twitley Branch Campground

Our first extended road trip since retiring. No specific itinerary but hope to get as far as Glacier National Park. Will likely be on the road for 2-3 months.

The first stop was near Meridian, MS. We discovered a really nice Corps of Engineers park, Twitley Branch,which was only a few Miles from Rex & Brenda's as well as Aunt Nard. Getting ready to be on an extended trip was stressful. This was a pleasant stop to just relax until we head west.

Carthage RV Park

Carthage, United States

Enroute to Houston to see Aunt Roselie. Stopped for one night and Stayed at Carthage RV Park. nice, quiet, just no shade.

Rayford Crossing

Spring, United States

Rayford Crossing appx. 18 Miles North from Aunt Roselie and Tom. Venry nice RV park with a resort atmosphere (and price). Enjoyed the pool, hot tub, fitness Center, and tropical feel. Temps exceeded 100 each day but was pleasant once the sun set and really enjoyed the stay.

McKinney Falls SP

Austin, United States

Very nice park south of Austin. Took a city tour, visited and old Texas dance hall, The Broken Spoke, toured the capital and Texas Museum of History. Waked around downtown. Really enjoyed the city which prides itself on "being weird". Enjoyed some fabulous ribs and brisket atThe Alk Lick in Driftwood.

Happened to meet a distant cousin at the campground, Linda Atchison Penn. She lives in Carrollton, TX and has been researching genealogy for many years.
