McKinney Falls SP

Very nice park south of Austin. Took a city tour, visited and old Texas dance hall, The Broken Spoke, toured the capital and Texas Museum of History. Waked around downtown. Really enjoyed the city which prides itself on "being weird". Enjoyed some fabulous ribs and brisket atThe Alk Lick in...

Anxious

Somebody is anxious!!!!!! I am still in Austin just waiting to get to Thailand with Jason. Seeing as I am one of the most impatient people in the world, it's not going so well. Coping mechanisms have involved: sending way too many emails to Jason, obsessively checking Skype to see if he's on,...

Missing our flight...

Sorry it's been a while since I last wrote but nothing really interesting has happened (until this morning at least). We're in Texas which has been a lot of fun and really relaxing. There isn't much to actually see or do in Austin apart from get drunk listening to live music. We have only...

Austin

We spent three nights in Austin, TX. The city is really nice with lots of music and alternative people. We had some typical Texas BBQ and a nice view over the city from one of the highest points of the area. Afterwards we went to a non touristic bar in Austin. The city is really worth a trip!

Home home!

In case anyone hadn’t noticed yet or the length of our stay here in lovely Austin was unclear, we’re home home. Like back in Austin finding a house and getting jobs. We won’t be running off to another far away land now that the holidays have come to an end…though it is inevitable we will again...

Don't Mess With Texas

For some reason, I thought it was an acceptable plan to drive twelve hours straight from Albuquerque to Austin by myself. I meant to leave around 6 or 7 in the morning, but didn't wake up until that time and left around 8. Driving through Eastern New Mexico (I took a variety of US highways...

7 days left

In 7 days James and I will board an airplane bound for New York and officially start what’s bound to be one of the most momentous events in our lives...and all I can think about is wanting to take a nap and pretend my reality doesn’t include packing up a house. Many things here are coming to...

The Back Story

As our departure date approaches, a little back-story is appropriate. About two months ago James and I found ourselves at a crossroads, in our personal lives and our relationship with each other. These are the things that have spured us into taking this trip now. Our relationship had...
