Its something I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to travel and have done some pretty amazing holidays especially when diving, but they have only ever been for less than 3 weeks. Well the time has arrived to change all of that! I have booked myself and my bike onto a flight on the 12th and 13th of January to Buenos Aries
I am going to travel by myself (although I will pleased of any company I can find along the way) from BA down to Ushia then turn around set the compass for north and keep going until I hit Alaska. I know I wont be the first or the last to do this but its still a very scary thought and I'm pretty much sh1ting myself just thinking about it!!
The hardest thing will be to leave my 'scousebird' behind unfortunately she cant come along but I am hoping a combination of email, skype, texts, phone calls and a 2 week luxury holiday in Mexico in the middle of the trip will mean she's still there for me when I come back.
Preperation wise I am not doing too much with the route side of it all, just following my nose and recommendations from books and other travellers stories. On a practical note I have washed the bike bought most of the touratech catalogue and more adventure kit than you can shake a big stick at! most of which I will probably leave behind. I am doing the BMW off road skills course and I am booking myself on a week long intensive Spanish course.
I am trying to lose a bit of weight (AGAIN) and get a tadge fitter (HAHA)
