Another beautiful
Spring
day here. Worked in the not-for-profit grocery store that Roger runs out of the
House
this morning. Everything sold is organic and all produce, milk, cheeses, eggs, etc. are locally made or grown. I priced products and stocked shelves before the store opened (hours are 10-noon every Saturday) and chatted with the local customers as they came in. I will be minding the store next Saturday by myself, so it was nice to have a trial run with Roger around. Luckily, the store is on the honor system for paying, so everyone drops their money in the till and makes their own change. Pretty simple really.
After the store closed, I went up to the Town Hall where they have a Saturday gathering between 10-2p. The have tables set up and sell tea, coffee, scones, cake by the slice, and soup. I helped with the consessions and, of course, washing dishes. In addition, there was a small craft fair where Jane had a table to sell her pottery and a couple of other local artists goods. Overall, it was a good working day :)
After the Fair, Jane and Roger left to go to their granddaughter's first birthday party. I took the opportunity to take a short walk through town and down by the river and I took some photos along the way. I will be going out with Jane and Roger tonight to a friend's
House
(a professor) for dinner...
