April 10, 2011 - Rosslyn Chapel

Penicuik, United Kingdom

Had a wonderful time last night at dinner with Jane and Roger's friend Brennan, his collegue, Natasha from Russia, and his son Gordon. Brennan is in his 80's and was a soil scientist and professor who spent many years in Africa. Natasha was once a student of his and was here to present at a conference. She made a wonderful Russian meal for dinner. Conversation was great with lots of laughter and Story telling...mostly about traveling adventures / adversities. Also saw some of the Scottish countryside on the way there with sheep flocks and baby lambs :) and some really shaggy cows.

Matt and I walked the 4 Miles to Rosslyn Chapel this afternoon by way of an old rail line that had been converted to a walk / bike path following the river. It was a beautiful walk, but we were both exhausted by the time we walked the 4 Miles home again. It was well worth it though to see the chapel (and the castle). Incredible...

Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to photograph or video inside the chapel, so all of the photos are external.

We ate lunch in the village of Roslin at the Roslin Glen Hotel before our walk back. Gratefully, it was another beautiful, sunny day, about 65 degrees with a nice breeze, which made the journey pleasant.

Hope everyone had a great weekend,
Karen
