Buenos Dias from Guatemala City!

A little bit of breakfast blogging to get things started...
We arrived in Guatelmala City last night after a stopover in Miami. Apparently the clever folks at Miami International Airport are hospitable toward their soldiers, and oblivious to the irony of their acronym (MIA).
Our hotel is beautiful, clean, and airy. We just finished breakfast and wanted to let everyone know that we arrived safely. We're going to walk around Guatemala City today. Our cab driver highly recommends the fried chicken place down the block, so we're going to go on an expedition to see if we can find our way there through the confusing streets. Given my exceptional sense of direction, I've been tasked with being the navigator. If you don't see another post after this one, you'll know that we're still looking for chicken.
There's a market that Melissa is going to make us visit. Can't wait. Stay tuned... The excitement is about to begin.

I`m SOOOO Sorry....Pollo Campero is famous all over the world...at least all over the developing world...so I hope you enjoy it. People actually bring Pollo Campero from Guatemala and El
Salvador
to the US and Canada...so be proud you tried it... I can guarantee it is much better than Taco Bell ;)
Also, I suggest to try some really Guatemalan food (it is actually pretty similar to Mexican food)...I`m sure you`ll find something good :)
Regarding the weather...yeah...it is advisable to use some sun protector....specially for someone who barely sees the sun ;-) hahaha
Have you seen the Maras yet? They are also famous all across Central and Latin America. It is a transnational phenomenum
Haven`t you find the Guatemalans very nice people? They are very open and fun...Hope you are enjoying your trip.
Will continue following your steps.
Love,
Luz
