Day Five

Forks, United States

Today was an intresting day. We got up and checked out of the hotel. Then we headed to Saint Helens, OR. Which is where many of th scenes from the movie where filmed including the prom dress scene, The bloated toad, Thunderbird and Wales, Charlie’s house, and more. Not only was twilight filmed in Saint Helens but so was Holloweentown the movie. I made sure to get pictures of the Town Hall for mom.

We got some really great pictures to we didn’t really get out of the car. We figure that we need to respect people and the town. We got out at the alley and took some pictures. We’ve become surprise at how little difference there has been between the real life place and the scene from the movie. It’s pretty sweet. The alley looked exactly the same and so did The swan house and he bloated toad ( which in the movie is a restaurant but in real life Is an office building.) We got great pictures of Charlie’s house and then hit the road. Initally we were going to head to the hotel but then we decided to head to Kalama high school which is actually were the van accident scene was filmed. It was awesome.

After that it was only one thirty so we decided to head up to forks instead of staying in Longview for the night . That’s right Longview Washington (BTW). So we’re right now on the drive up to forks got about another hundred fifty miles. The rain is kinda crazy ngvy and then nonw. Thank goodness Kel is drive.

I now better understand the words Stephenie Meyers writes in her books her description of Washington. Before I could only image the moss covered trees and constant cover of clouds and rain, Even after the moons recreation came out I only fs d an idea of what it really ooked like. Now I can see it for myself the beauty the moss that engulfs the trees and rocks , The green shrubbery that over grows on the land. It’s amazing to bring what I have read and only imagined real life. and wow it’s better then I could have every expected. More beautiful thatn I could have ever thought to have imagined.

Even more so the book seems so far to keep true to some of the smallest details. We’re on the road to forks from Port Angeles. Just as described in the book it is a road with narrow turns and sharp curves. Exactly as described in the books. Exactly as I had imagined it after reading

AfterA five hour 200 mile drive we made it to Forks Wa. Our final destination. We checked into our hotel which is amazing. It has a huge bed which is nice because kelley and i dont have to sleep on top of eachother. It has A huge bathroom and a beautiful balcony that overlooks the side of a mountain with lush greenery overgrowing down the side. This is amazing. I'm beggining to like forks.

We got in late and got on the phone to check in with the families, By the time we got off the phone it was 8:15 and we didn't know how late anything was open in forks much less where everything is. We drove around and found a couple things turns out most things close at 9. Went to Thriftway and bought some stuff we could just microwave in the hotel room That was our first Expierence in forks. Tomorrow IS the real Forks Experience and i can't wait. I love small towns. Now Kel on the other hand has never really had the small town expierence this should intresting

Your trip sounds great. Thanks for the postings!
The blizzard arrived today just as the weatherman predicted (odd, I know). Snow….wonderful snow and lots of it! I worked from home and yes, they had the brains to close...finally! Road closures north and south, east and west.
I just talked to my sons (aka the Brothers) who are all at work right now. Told them NOT to Split up, stick together and that I would put them up in the hotel across from their work. I sure hope they listen to me. Two of them live close to work but the others don't.
Called them again….brothers are not listening... .they are laughing... having a great adventure and are thinking of how they would get home later this afternoon …how? Two ways…the left foot and then the right foot .... more laughter when I remind them to get reservations at the hotel.... ended the conversation with I will call you in a couple of hours, you all better be together....in one place!
Well, the potato soup in the crock-pot is about done and the tea kettle is whistling to make Sugar Plum Spice tea…. Mmmm mm!

Keep posting I love reading it daily!
