Day Five
Forks
,
United States
Today was an intresting day. We got up and checked out of the hotel. Then we headed to Saint Helens, OR. Which is where many of th scenes from the movie where filmed including the prom dress scene, The bloated toad, Thunderbird and Wales, Charlie’s house, and more. Not only was twilight filmed in Saint Helens but so was Holloweentown the movie. I made sure to get pictures of the Town Hall for mom.
We got some really great pictures to we didn’t really get out of the car. We figure that we need to respect people and the town. We got out at the alley and took some pictures. We’ve become surprise at how little difference there has been between the real life place and the scene from the movie. It’s pretty sweet. The alley looked exactly the same and so did The swan house and he bloated toad ( which in the movie is a restaurant but in real life Is an office building.) We got great pictures of Charlie’s house and then hit the road. Initally we were going to head to the hotel but then we decided to head to Kalama high school which is actually were the van accident scene was filmed. It was awesome.
After that it was only one thirty so we decided to head up to forks instead of staying in Longview for the night . That’s right Longview Washington (BTW). So we’re right now on the drive up to forks got about another hundred fifty miles. The rain is kinda crazy ngvy and then nonw. Thank goodness Kel is drive.
I now better understand the words Stephenie Meyers writes in her books her description of Washington. Before I could only image the moss covered trees and constant cover of clouds and rain, Even after the moons recreation came out I only fs d an idea of what it really ooked like. Now I can see it for myself the beauty the moss that engulfs the trees and rocks , The green shrubbery that over grows on the land. It’s amazing to bring what I have read and only imagined real life. and wow it’s better then I could have every expected. More beautiful thatn I could have ever thought to have imagined.
Even more so the book seems so far to keep true to some of the smallest details. We’re on the road to forks from Port Angeles. Just as described in the book it is a road with narrow turns and sharp curves. Exactly as described in the books. Exactly as I had imagined it after reading
AfterA five hour 200 mile drive we made it to Forks Wa. Our final destination. We checked into our hotel which is amazing. It has a huge bed which is nice because kelley and i dont have to sleep on top of eachother. It has A huge bathroom and a beautiful balcony that overlooks the side of a mountain with lush greenery overgrowing down the side. This is amazing. I'm beggining to like forks.
We got in late and got on the phone to check in with the families, By the time we got off the phone it was 8:15 and we didn't know how late anything was open in forks much less where everything is. We drove around and found a couple things turns out most things close at 9. Went to Thriftway and bought some stuff we could just microwave in the hotel room That was our first Expierence in forks. Tomorrow IS the real Forks Experience and i can't wait. I love small towns. Now Kel on the other hand has never really had the small town expierence this should intresting

We didn't do to much today went into town and found the coolest shop. Dazzeled By Twilight. A store completely of twilight things. Shirts hats shot glasses mugs movies books. Even Ful size cardboard cut outs of the characters. it was pretty awesome i even got a badge pully for my work badge that says twilight i was very excited. Then we went to some of the other stores in town and tucked away from mainstreet was this really cool flower store and twilight gift shop it was especially neat. The shop keeper was really nice. in fact everyone her is especially nice. We were suprised at how supportive they are when it comes to all the twiligh tourists.
After town we went to the ocean in La Push at first beach. the sand was dark there were stones every were and for some reason there was wood boardering the entire beach that we had to climb over to get in and out of it.
while we were watching the waves we saw the
Wales
playing not fifty yards off the beach blowing ater in the air and flopping there fins it was beautiful. The only day that we''ve been her so far that it was sunny and even though it was still cold it was amazing. I haven't seen the ocean since i was nine or ten and now i remember what i was missing

Day Four
Troutdale
,
United States
Did you know that people In Oreon like to burn things at least it appears so. Every where we go we've seen billowing smoke raising into the sky from masses being burned by property owners.
Today we went to A couple different places The Blue Heron Paper company which was in the scene in the movie where the gaurd was killed.
We also went to Clackamas community college which is where the Green house seen was filmed and it looked exactly the same which was great. We got some pretty decent pictures. It took a little time to find it. We got directions to the community college but it was pretty large. We just drove around behind the college and i spotted it through some tree
Then we went to the
Stone
Cliff Inn which is where some deleted scenes and the woods and meadow scenes where filmed, however guess what the only day of the week it is closed is? Yep thats right mondays so we didn't really get to see it kel got some picture of the actual building which i'll get later. I only got pictures of the sing.
And finally of the stops we went to today we snuck into the driveway of The Cullen House and Snapped the some picture. It was amazing mostly because I found it. One of the only non-published places in the movie. But no i am amazing and got the address. And all the hunting it down was totally worth it. That moment made it all Worth every hour of driving all of it.
After all the sight seeing we went to this out let mall and found that it was pretty lame. No cool stores like Colorado. We did go to the
Rocky Mountain
Chocolate Factory Which is kinda funny because we drove almost 1300
Miles
to buy something that we could have gone to downtown
Denver
.
Now were Back At the hotel And Tired We already packed up all of our stuff. Check out is in the morning. On we go to Saint Helens.

You could rtell it was a small town everyone Knew Everyone andif they didnt the waitres knew they were there because of twilight. They had an entire wall of twilight stuff and The waitress were ever wearing Shirts that said " I had a Bite at thfound it we carver cafe." I thought they were pretty awesome but kelley wouldn't let me by the shirt.
I quite funny because the enitre time we were eating people stared at us like we were crazy from the corner of my eye i could see people whispering to each other and pointing and Kel and i Just looked at eachother and laghed.
After leaving we went and checked into the hotel. Took hot showers and relaxed we found out were right acros the street from Walmart. That Came in handy considering that we forgot out camera cables back home.

Day Three
Troutdale
,
United States
Today we went to Multnomah Falls It supposed to be the waterfall that is featured in the movie during the baseball scene. I'm still unsure if it's that actuall waterfall but it was beautiful. I mean I don't think i have ever scene anything so beautiful The water fall was so tall it poured over the mountain down most of the way and the leveled and began falling again about a third of the way from the bottom there was a bridge which we hiked up to and took pictures from. Then we hiked up about a mile and thats when i realized hout out of shape i am. It was all so pretty and green the complete opposite of colorado everything is so amazingly green here and in colorado well is just not.
After the falls we went to The View Point Inn which is where the Prom scene in the movie was filmed. The veiw was amazing. It was a pretty little building a resteraunt. Kel has the pictures it i'll get those up later.
When we went to turn around we saw this beautiful building in the distance. We went up to the building and it was an amazing building. The
Vista
House was an overlook with a historical building build in 1914 i think. That just had information on Oregon and the Columbia river highway. It was a really pretty building with Italian Architecture.
After that we headed back the hotel and chilled for the rest of the night.

Day one
Troutdale
,
United States
Okay so Road Trips are fun but the whole driving thing is slightly over rated I mean really. It was a beautiful drive I had never been to any of the states we drove though before. I didn't realize there were so many mountains in Wyoming and Utah. Wyoming was great Beautiful we stopped like three times. The first time was about a hundred
Miles
outside of the Colorado border at this gas station. When we pulled in there was an
Arvada
police SUV it was a little weird. The last time we stopped we saw the same
Arvada
Cop and this was right on the border of Utah I wonder where he was going.
After Utah we were in Idaho and it was pretty much dark. We were getting pretty tired we stopped in
Boise
and Napped for a little while and then kept going and soon enough we were in Oregon. Late that night at like two in the morning Kel and I Switched so she was driving less then five minutes later we came around of curve and saw glimmer light in the pitch black darkness. A few seconds later we an entire herd of deer in the road. Keel Swerved to the side but one of the deer continued to try to walk into that lane. I had my foot on the bracing myself and we missed the deer. THANK GOODNESS.
That’s when we decided to pull off and sleep until morning we figured it would be much safer to drive during daylight.
We found this truck stop with 24 hour cafe in
Baker City
Oregon and slept for five hours until the sun came up. The sleep was much needed
