Where was I

Little guy just loves looking at pictures. He likes pictures from our American life, he likes pictures from other cities in China, he loves pictures of himself!
The school in Hefei gave us a picture CD of our experience there. So Princess loaded in the DVD player and is enjoying seeing it. Little Guy is watching and pointing "that's you" and "that's Teenager",

After a while he looks at me and signs "Where" and points to himself.

Wow...he clearly saw that these pictures were taken in the area he had been before. He clearly seems to understand that now we are a family unit. He wanted to know- why wasn't I in theses pictures.

His favorite teacher at the orphange school

All the pre-adoption classes give you nice pretty answers to tell your kids when these questions come along. But they don't really give you an answer for how to answer before you have enough sign language and actually the pre-adoption classes never address the deaf adoption complications.
All though the moment was sad because he felt left out of the pictures, I thought it actually was a sign of progress. Sometimes I have felt like he just thinks he is a visitor here, but this showed that he realizes he is a part of the family.
