To the mountains!

Copan, Honduras

We have made the trip now from Utila to La Ceiba to San Pedro Sula to Copan Ruinas and back to La Entrada to Gracias. It has been fun though! We traveled by bus...so many connections. We are getting better with our spanish although today I think we hit overload. Spent 2 days looking at 2 different ruin sites in Copan. They are totally amazing! Hooked up with a "stalker" that wouldn't leave us alone until we agreed to let him guide us to one of the ruins. We had an amount settled and then when we paid, he said we needed to give him more. We learned our lesson with this guy. Hope we don't run into the same situation again. It wasn't a pleasant one...lol. Other then him, the people here have been very helpful and for the most part polite. Again the language barrier can be somewhat of a problem at times. Good thing the people are patient with foreigners. We are getting ready to stroll the town of Gracias and get to know the situation with the hiking here. We want to climb to the waterfull on the mountain. We will be hiking in Parque Nacional Montana de Celaque. The scenery here is fabulous! Not anything like home! Downloaded some more pictures....take a look if you have time. Will update again soon......

Barefoot Cay

Roatan, Honduras

Have you ever gone to the beach just to lay down and sleep in a bungalow? If yes, then you should be going to Barefoot Cay. This beach is located in Roatan, Honduras. It is the perfect lazy getaway after a long and hardworking week in the office.

Barefoot Cay has the perfect weather for relaxation, after being hammered all day, all week. Just because this place invites all disinclination to do something, do not dare to miss snorkeling or scuba diving in the Barefoot Cay. The private cay has beautiful coral reefs and marine life, which makes it ideal for these activities. And, don't forget to experience the luxurious one-bedroom bungalows in the beachfront. This houses have excellent amenities such as full kitchens, bathrooms, showers, and wicker furniture. There are two-bedroom villas as well which have spacious covered decks which are overlooking the beautiful sea. Strictly for the lazyheads at heart.

Intro

Meade, United States

I haven't left yet...and actually I am not sure when exactly I will be leaving. It will be one of the first weekends in August...unless things go badly with the political situation in Honduras. So far I have a good amount promised to me financially for my trip, but not very much has made it to my account at the Mission, and I am a little worried. I also am needing strength to trust God that the rest of the money will come in. I do have some money of my own that I can use, but not enough and if I have to use it it will be very difficult for me to start a life back here in the US. But this whole thing has been a question of faith...and God has provided so far.
