World Heritage Sites in the Philippines

The first site are acutally the only four baroque churches in the country, which are the Santa Maria Church in Ilocos Sur, Paoay Church in Ilocos Norte, San Agustin Church in Manila, and Santo Tomas Villanueva in Iloilo. These four churches are architectural wonders mixing Baroque and Filipino details. The Banaue Rice Terraces in the Ifugao mountains are beautiful 2000-year old terraces carved by the ancestors of the Batad indigenous people. Vigan is known for its cobblestone streets and beautiful colonial European architecture.The Puerto Prinsesa Subterranean River National Park is a stunning limestone karst landscape with a beautiful underground river. Lastly, the Tubbataha Reef Marine Park is a dazzling and enormous reef of marine sanctuary that is nominated at the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
