The Source of the Nile

After a very eventful Journey we arrived in Jinga (about an hour from Kampala) on Sunday night. Ginga is the watersports capital of Uganada and sits on the Nile just at its source on Lake Victoria. On Monday we all signed up to go white water rafting. Having never been rafting before I...

My God, it's good to have a shower!

Luckily when we arrived at Red Chilli's Backpackers this morning at 2:15am there was a night guard who found a room for us and we instantly fell asleep. In the morning it felt incredible to have a shower!

The land that stole my heart

Uganda and Guerillas (gorillas) The tour got under way and we quickly headed out of Kenya and into one of the most beautiful places on Earth. This place mesmorized me by the people, the landscape and the struggles it had over come. We entered into Uganda through a long wait at the border...

Trekking to see Gorillas

An experience I would not have if it were not for my parents. They financial supported this expedition, as it get continuously more expensive to see gorillas in the wild. This is mostly due to politics and high cost of protection. We drove like bats out of hell across Uganda to get to the...

An illegal holiday in Uganda

I just spent 9 days as an illegal immigrant in Uganda! Whoops! Slight cock-up with my Visa, as in I just walked right passed the office and no-one stopped me! Anyway, on the return leg I was very angelic-like and apologetic and so they let me off, with a ‘next time’ warning!! So my 9 days...
