Christmas Day
South Mission Beach
,
Australia
Well the big day has arrived and Shaun and Karen thought they may get a lie in as the children had seemed so exhausted the night before - how wrong they were!! At 6am precisely Chris ran down to inform us that Santa had been - luckily for us Isabel had written a lovely note to tell Santa to still deliver presents here and he did! ( Thanks Isabel). Chris was really lucky and received a Nintendo DS with some games. Sally received an IPOD nano already loaded with her favourite music!! She has been entertaining us with her singing already this morning!?!
All the family received gifts from our exchange family. Shaun received a Mission Beach stubby holder ( a beer holder for those not in the know!). Karen received some Australian made soap with the Mission Beach butterfly on it. Sally received a cuddly Cassowary (which received an ahh! all round!). Chris got a book on Australian wildlife, so he will know all about the creepy crawly critters by the end of the holiday.
We phoned up the family in Cornwall to let them know that Santa was on his way, it was only 8.30pm so they still had a while to wait - tee hee!! Shaun also phoned his Mum and Dad to wish them a Merry Christmas. That's all for now as we still have the rest of the day to enjoy. A nice swim in the pool followed by prawns and barramundi on the barby to follow!
The weather remained hot, beautiful and sunny for the rest of the day. Shaun cooked us a lovely dinner starting with prawn cocktail and chips and dips. We followed it up with a selection of chicken, rissoles, barramundi and homemade burgers. As you can see by the picture Shaun got a little hot under the collar whilst cooking.
We cooled off in the pool in the afternoon and got soaked by the "splash monster" aka Chris! In the evening we popped on the air con and watched Eragon. Drank lots of beer and wine (coke for kids), and went to bed happy.

ChristmasDay
Send a Compliment
Hi Shaun, Karen, Chris and Sally,
Hope you're having a great (warm) Christmas Day. Ours officially hasn't started yet (I think we've got another 3 hours before the bedroom door flies open!) It sounds like Santa's well informed.
I'd better get off to bed or all that being good for a year will have counted for nothing.

Well Santa eventually reached the u.k. Kieran had been waiting up for him since 3.30 - Ylaena gave up at 4 a.m. and went backto bed. Fortunately neither of them woke us up!!. We got up at 9 ish, did some horrible things to the
Turkey
and stuffed it in the oven and waited for it to cook.
We went for a swim in the pool, but we couldn't take pictues as we don't have an underwater camera.
Maureen and Tony came round and we stuffed our faces with lots of food and even more drink and then proceeded to play with Kieran's helicopter- well all the boys did. Ylaena was well into her Nintendo DS thing that she got, so the other ladies walked round the block - 3
Miles
. Unfortunately it didn't shift anything.
We had a lovely day just like you - thanks for all the pressies and look forward to more blog entries to make us green with envy.

P.S. it's sunny here today !!!!
