Last day in Mission Beach
South Mission Beach
,
Australia
Today is our last day in Mission Beach, the sun is shining again (we have been very lucky with the weather seeing as, in these parts, this time of year is known as The Wet.)
Spent the day packing and tidying (in this heat you do everything slowly) and hiding in the pool.
Tonight we are going out for a final meal (kitchen has been cleaned and we, Shaun and kids, have been banned from that area.)
Tomorrow we go home but we are not sure which route to take as we have been told that the most direct route may be flooded and we may need to take a 2 hour detour via the tablelands.

Send a Compliment
We are very surprised that you have decided to come home. It sounds as if you have had a fantastic time and would stay longer if you could. You will be pleased to know that back here the temperature is around 6 to 8 degrees which is a lot warmer then it has been. Unlike you who had to worry about sun burn, we have been worrying about hypothermia. Sally and Chris won't be wanting to go in any outside swimming pools here. Never mind you can always turn the thermostat up when you get home. Heron Island sounded great and Sally and Chris seemed to have made great Rangers. We expect you will all have very nice sun tans. We hope that you have a good journey home (don't try to make the floods a good excuse to stay longer) and we will speak to you when you get home. Give us a ring when you are ready.
Love Bill and Chris (Gran & Grandad)
