2007-07-14 14:30. First aboriginal dance practice done. A few of us had volunteered to learn it and perform tonight, so we practiced.

We were here for the afternoon and well into the evening. Our tour schedule refers to this event as 大會師, looslely translated as The Big Gathering or The Big Assembly.

All youth groups and programs by the OCAC (Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission) such as ourselves, gathered here, approximately 2000 people in attendance. Each group wore a different uniform. Our group wore yellow athletic shirts, which we received earlier before lunch. Examples of other groups were the multiple Formosa Camps a.k.a. Loveboat which wore white t-shirts, Mandarin study programs in Taiwan, and various other International programs.

Vouchers totalling NT$150 were given to us to spend on food, crafts and anything else at the Taiwanese food and crafts stalls of the large square open area. Anyone who used up their vouchers would need to start paying in cash. Evening concluded with spectacular low-altitude fireworks launched from a rooftop.
