La Barrosa Beach

Chiclana de la Frontera, Spain

La Barrosa beach is one of the best beaches in Spain. It is situated 6 kilometers from the town of Chiclana. The beach is a vast tourist destination that is perfect for relaxation. Its best features are its crystal blue water and fine white sand. It is the perfect haven for those who love white sand.

The beach is divided into two parts, namely: the urbanized promenade and the untouched stretch. The promenade consists of various bars and restaurants that offer great food and drinks. The beach is also very orderly and very clean. Behind the main beach is the Novo Sancti Petri which is a tourist spot packed with many bars, restaurants, and shops. Like the promenade, it also offers great dining experiences, including delicious seafood. The place is heavily packed in July and August.

Like Costa del Sol, La Barrosa beach is one of the most visited beaches in Spain.

Blue Lagoon

Bangui, Philippines

I can not think of the perfect words to describe this very beautiful place. If you have been to Ilocos Norte in the Philippines before, then you probably know what I am talking about. It is this very enchanting place that drew me closer to the Philippines. It is in the Blue Lagoon that I felt very peaceful.

I have been here a couple of times already and I can say that I am glad to come back. The Blue Lagoon is located in Pagudpud. The road trip going to the beach alone was already enough excitement for me. The long and winding bridge that peeks to the sea is just very laid back. The trees and houses best describe the province life in the country. The best part for me is the Blue Lagoon. This beach is an ideal family vacation spot. From the cottages, you can see the crystal blue waters glitter under the sun. The sand is white and fine. My favorite part is watching the sunset with all solemnity.

Ranguana

Belize City, Belize

This place is a very laidback fishing village which is situated in Placencia on the southern tip of the barrier peninsula. Ranguana has not been really developed, yet tourists like it better that way. Moreover, Ranguana still holds the reputation of being the best beach in Belize.

The Ranguana Lodge has very fine white sand which will dissolve your stress into its clear waters. You can go sportfishing in the sea, where you can fish for tuna, kingfish, barracuda, and snook. Ranguana has three stilted air-conditioned beachfront cabanas which are furnished. The two other units are more nature-inspired, and even more spacious, which consist of hardwood floors, kitchenettes, and cozy rooms. Both cabanas have decks and hammocks for relaxation.

It is a must to go for a walk along the main road which is a three-foot-wide sidewalk. The main road leads to the delightful town. Ranguana is definitely the best beach in Belize.

Santa Monica

Los Angeles, United States

Had a beautiful day in Santa Monica.

Drove down to the beach. We were told by a friendly guy at our motel that it's cheaper parking on the left side of the pier, when you face the sea. But I was still a novice at left-hand drive, and making multiple U-turns along the highway next to the beach wasn't an attractive option, so we ended up paying USD 6 instead of USD 2 for parking.

The beach itself is a wide swathe of sand, probably about 400m from turf to surf - you can literally plonk yourself at a spot and not get bothered by anyone walking within 10m of you, if you wanted. Seagulls, though, follow different social rules.

We walked along the beach up to Santa Monica pier, which houses an aquarium and an amusement park. Hand-in-hand, we strolled down to the tip of the pier, which was probably another 300m out over the water.

Unlike Bedok Jetty at East Coast, this area is not merely a resting place for skaters and cyclists. It's actually a place to commune with the ocean. Sure, there were a couple of guys fishing, but what struck me more was the cool, crisp ocean breeze and the warm sun on my face. We took a seat facing the Pacific Ocean and listened to the melodious crooning of a very talented busker by the name of Terry Prince. Terry was performing songs that he composed himself, and singing about love, beauty, appreciation, imagination - all nice and calming tunes, set off perfectly by the gentle lap of the waves beneath us. I looked out to the ocean, and was mesmerised by the dancing sunlight sparkling off the waters, creating a lighted path towards the wife and me. It was one of the most peaceful experiences in my life.

We spoke to Terry as we were about to leave, and found that he had just finished a one-year contract performing at Harrah's at Las Vegas. Such a nice guy! Purchased his CD for USD 10 (eventually ripped it into iTunes, and iTunes did detect his CD info, btw) which was a little pricey, but probably worth it, because I don't think we will otherwise get a chance to listen to his music again.

After this delightful experience, we took another short walk along the beach, and eventually made our way back to the motel. Lovely day, lovely place. Lovely as a peacock!

Pug-os Beach

Pug-os, Philippines

There is a beach in Ilocos Sur that is located in Pug-os, Cabugao. It is not really the great beach that I expected, such as having nice amenities. But the resort is perfectly solemn place at the far north of the Philippines.

Visit Pug-os beach if you want to escape from the noise and pollution of the metro. The beach has fine winds that calm your senses. The resort even has convenient rooms equipped with air conditioning, bed, and bath. The rooms are really just simple as they do not have television sets, yet it would be perfectly fine if you are there for the solemnity. The simplicity of the beach is what makes it very beautiful. You can enjoy walking on the white sand, or swimming with the waves hitting the shores. Alternately, you can also go to the resort swimming pool which is located in front of the beach. Just relax and enjoy simplicity at its finest.

Siargao

Surigao, Philippines

There is a small island that is situated in northern Mindanao which is a very exciting spot. It is the ultimate surfing destination in the Philippines. Foreigners and locals alike travel all the way to Siargao just to experience the great surf. Siargao is blessed with monstrous waves which have attracted lots of people.

Because of its enormous popularity, many Americans and Australians who have visited the wonderful island have called it home. Siargao is different from other surfing sites because it is free of pollution and trash. Another good thing about the island is that it is free from commercialization. Nonsurfers can also enjoy the island. Because of its relaxing and laidback environment, people enjoy hanging out in the beach. They can also enjoy watching surfers glide on the waves. The nightlife in Siargao is different from Manila, as it is more tranquil and peaceful. You can simply enjoy cool drinks while watching the sunset.

Batangas

Batangas, Philippines

Batangas is one of the most visited provinces in Luzon. People who want to have quick access to the beach from Manila travel to this exciting province. This is ideal for people who have short and valuable vacation time to spare.

If you are in the area, I would highly recommend you to visit Anilao. This place hosts one of the best diving sites in the country, and a favorite among tourists. Some of the spectacular dive sites in the area are Batalan, Caban Cove, Ligpo Island, Merriel's Rock, Sombrero Island and Verde Island. Aside from these diving sites, you can also experience great beaches. Batangas is also a hub of white sand beaches located in places such as Nasugbu, Calatagan, San Juan, and Matabungkay. Of course, you can also visit attractions such as the General Malvar Museum and Library, Mabini Shrine, Taal Heritage Village, and the Basilica of San Martin de Tours.
