A Nearer Baguio
Tagaytay
,
Philippines
If you are looking for a cold place nearest to the city, I would suggest that you visit
Tagaytay
. Unlike
Baguio
which is located
Miles
away from the city,
Tagaytay
provides a very convenient getaway. And of course it costs less than going to
Baguio
City.
Tagaytay
is situated in
Batangas
, near the famous Lake Taal.
Tagaytay
is not as cold as compared to
Baguio
, but its gentle winds and fine weather make it perfect for relaxation. There are a couple of clubs that provide great accomodation and recreation, such as
Tagaytay
Highlands
. Some of the famous activities that you can do in
Tagaytay
are the followign: horseback riding, camping, dining, and even casino. When in town, it is a must to vist Mount Taal, which is a volcano in the middle of the Lake.
Tagaytay
is one of the most accessible places that offers cool weather and great sights.

Camp John Hay
Baguio
,
Philippines
Camp John Hay used to be the Rest and Recreation center of the
United States
Army personnel in the
Philippines
. Because of its cool climate, the area was suitable and ideal for the American army. Today, Camp John Hay is a beautiful vacation spot in
Baguio
City. It is the resort of the mountains.
The moment you enter Camp John Hay, you will be astonished by its beauty. You will notice a large bentgreen grass-filled golf course within the camp that is designed by Jack Niclaus, which is accessible to members and nonmembers alike. It is also great to cruise the pine tree-lined roads while feeling the cool breeze and viewing the beautiful landscape. Camp John Hay also has great hotels such as The Manor Hotel, a shopping center, and a convention center. Although the camp has changed over time, it still remains a wonderful and relaxing place for everyone.

Mines View Park
Baguio
,
Philippines
One of the most popular and most visited spots in
Baguio
City is Mines View Park. It is the most visited park in the city which lays on a gentle slope that overlooks
Benguet
's gold and copper mines The park has a wide observation deck where you can experience a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
Minesview park is usually the next stop after visiting the Mansion and Wright Park. Once you enter the park, you will pass winding stone-covered pathway that slopes downward leading to the observation deck. There are also rock benches that lay along the pathway where you can simply rest and enjoy the view. I recommend that you visit the park in the morning because fog starts to move in during the afternoon, which obstructs the view. Of course, there is a wide assortment of “pasalubong” or gifts that make Minesview Park an enjoyable place.

One of the famous activities you can indulge in is skating. A circular skating rink allows you to rent skates, and it is located at the southern end of the park. Other things you can find at Burnham Park are a few restaurants, children's playground, outdoor kiosks, and an orchidarium. The football
