San Francisco to Reno
Reno
,
United States
After waking up with the sunshine slap in the face and a hug goodbye the day had started well. It was GO time ... literally. I had a half day to pack all my life in
San Francisco
and put it into my the seemingly miniscule space in my truck.
It's funny how in moments like these my indecisive nature peaks, the average person wouldn't have trouble deciding which bin a paperclip belongs however when you're asking me, it's an executive decision that needs have a unanimous decision from my internal board of directors. So, I decided to evoke my ever so favorite "Fuck It" rule. A friend taught me this a while back and it comes in extreme handy in times like these. Most things won't matter in 10 minutes let alone 10 days and especially not in 10 years .... so Fuck it.
3,264 Fuckit's later it was 3:30PM and I finally drove away from my home. Talking with my sister as I left the city I had this feeling I was forgetting something, after a few weeks I can say that it wasn't something tangible, something I could go back and pick up. I was leaving thousands of smiles, hundreds of good nights and a handful of friends that .... no matter how I tried ... wouldn't fit in my suitcase.
The trip from
San Francisco
to
Reno
was uneventful, minus the several girly screams of excitement that I released upon realizing I was finally free. The area past
Sacramento
and until
Reno
is a beautiful drive, largely due to the mountains and gorges.
