April 15, 2011 - Valleyfield House

Not much excitement today, but busy none-the-less. Today is delivery day for the store so I was up early for the first delivery. Cheese and general dry goods (teas, honey, jams, canned goods, etc.) come first at 7am and it took me several hours to price and stock everything. Then I spent some time weeding the flower gardens while I waited for the fresh vegetables to arrive at noon. After I got those sorted and into place, I had a final lunch with Matt before his departure. It was great to have him here and I'll miss his company. Safe journeys Matt!

The final delivery of bread came around 3pm, so my work day was complete after I got all the loaves sorted, priced, and shelved. Hopefully there'll be some cheese swirls left over after the store closes tomorrow...I've become quite fond of them!

I didn't have any photos today, so I've included some photos (not mine) of the local birds that I've seen, but have been unable to photograph.

Tomorrow I'll mind the store from 10-noon and then go to the open House again at the Town Hall to help with consessions and such until 2p...

Pheasant - I've seen 2 of these and they're beautiful with their bright copper coloring

I have been under the weather for the past few days so I spent this morning catching up on your blog over breakfast. I have enjoyed the pictures and your vivid descriptions of your days. It sounds like you are enjoying your time there and have made the best of your free time. I am surprised that you are enjoying black tea? Spencer and I enjoyed tea time during our trip to Austrailia.
