Our Anniversary (by Amber)

It is hard to believe we have already been married two years, time really does go so fast and it is also hard to believe that two years ago we talked about this trip not really knowing if it would happen and I dont think we would have believed it would be possible after only two years.

The day has been mostly travel but we arrived in Montreux and it is absolutly breath taking. Switzerland in general is very beautiful. The Fairmont here is also amazing and they definitly live up to the Fairmont standards. The people are so friendly and the hotel is fantastic. When we arrived we checked in and then walked along the lake front before having a fantastic dinner at the restuarant at the hotel. We then had to check out the amazing pool and fitness facility, very impressive.

In the morning I went down and had a run on the treadmill while looking at the beautiful mountains, we had an awesome breakfast in our room, overlooking the lake and then we checked out.

As we were packing up we noticed the Fairmont staff parking some Porche cars on the lawn, curious we checked it out and found out that there was a porche convention at the hotel. It was pretty cool, got to see some nice cars about 20 of them scattered throughout the property.

We then took the bus to a castle called Chillion, it was a beautiful old castle and really interesting to see how the castle was built and how it evolved and how the people lived. What made the castle so beautiful and unique is that is is located on a little island on lake Geneve. It is one of the only castles with a natural moat, pretty cool. ( I wish we could post pictures) That was all for Montreux which I was really sad to leave but our budget just could not handle it.
