We were somewhere in Hualien City beside the loud airport, and when leaving the restaurant our bus drove past National Hualien University of Education 國立花蓮教育大學 which is in Hualien City.

Authenticity

I just ordered take out from a restaurant I was walking past. There was live entertainment - patrons on stage with ethnically garbed dancers. I'll take a wild stab that they were representing a minority from Qinghai provence.

They wore striped turbans and long robes. Towards the end of the circular dance a bubble machine spewed it's contents into the mix. How authentic is that???

I love restaurant service here. No tipping and consistantly great service. Sunday I dined at a Korean restaurant. I orded two dishes - more than enough for one person. But I forgot that the Korean tradition includes small appetizers at even the littlest, low budget restaurant. They gave me four, no extra cost. But this was high end-ish in China which meant they also gave me fresh fruit for dessert, no extra cost. Then they followed that with a small scoop of ice cream, no extra cost. Lastly they gave me two sticks of gum with my receipt. That's a first for me in China. Still no extra cost.

Well, I"m sure they figure all this in to their pricing. The seafood crepe and sweet rice dumplings cost me $6.50.

How's that commercial go? Seafood crepe, $4. Sweet rice dumplings, $2.50. Four appetizers, fresh fruit, ice cream and gum? Priceless.

My Vietnamese friend

He is Mr.Kien who is now owner of two famous Restaurants, Kiti Restaurant and Trong khach Restaurant, in Hanoi, Vietnam. We met together in Germany when both of us are student. My friend is very active, he both went to school and worked out of school time. He worked so many career. fistly, be a waiter, then he was a employee in clothes company... After 7 years, he come back his country, I lost contact with him. But I have been Vietnam in a travel trip, I met him again. It's very nice! And I was so surprised at his Kiti restaurant which is a famous restaurant in Old Streer not far from Hoan Kiem lake.
The restaurant located in a nice place in famous Old Street in Hanoi. I like foods, service style and atmosphere of the restaurant. It's exciting that there're so many foods of many areas on the world concentrated on here. Mr.Kien makes me more admirated when he said he was owning 2 restaurants in Old Street. I talked to him for an hour, I see he is a good manager with many feasible creative ideas.
I have some business plans in Vietnam next time. It's lucky I met my good friend, It's easier in business when I coorperate to him.

I'm in Vietnam

I'm in a restaurant, named Kiti restaurant. I'm relaxing after wandering on Old Quarter Street in Hanoi, Vietnam. Hanoi is very speacial. Names of streets is so same same, it's difficult for me to remember all of them. May be I remember best is this street which the Kiti restaurant located in, it's Hanghom. I have been to here for a week and discover Hanoi and its secret. There's the great anniversary of 1000 years Thanglong Hanoi next time, in the fact that it's left a several days. It's really exciting to travellers like us. Let's wait!
