The End

During a period of reflection in between in-flight movies on our 24+ hour trip back to New York, one word that came to mind when I thought of New Zealand was staggering - staggering in landscape, natural beauty, and scope and range of activities to experience there. It is a place best...

South to Queenstown

We continued down the increasingly scenic West Coast highway which winds along the shoreline with desolate, rocky beach to the right, hilly rainforest to the left, and occasional dives into pristine farmland valleys and sheep-and-cow meadows (man, are there a lot of sheep here). One of the...

NZ....the camping fun begins here!

We'd booked into Nomads hostel & met up with Jonathan, our pal from Manchester who'd madly wanted to join us through NZ, who'd already arrived the day before. This was the first chance we'd got to get our heads together & try to plan & organise the next few weeks in NZ. However the most...

Our new home!..

Finally we have brought a new vehicle! It’s a Toyota Estima Lucida and we are so happy we now have wheels! There’s a couple of things wrong with it that need fixing, so a few pennies need to be spent to buy at least 2 new tyres, get the wheels aligned, check out the battery, fully convert it...

Final 3

Third day of frantically searching for cars. Saw heaps more today and Aston gave us a lift into town to have a look at some parked up around there. We did find the most perfect people carrier though and it was in mint condition for a bargain price. We took it for a test drive and certain we...

A little explore around town

Although pretty hungover, we manged to get our act together and went for a nice tour around Queenstown with Mason, Justine’s son, which took in some of the nice parts of the lake and the town. We then went shopping for a few bits before headed back to base for a chilled evening.

Routeburn Track

Touring the South Island

Time flies! It's amazing how the days go by when you are travelling and not on a set schedule. It's actually almost a little embarrassing, but quite often we find ourselves having to check which date it is and / or the day of the week. Since we returned to the South Island, we've had over a...
